The role of vertical sprinkler nozzles in fire

The role of vertical sprinkler nozzles in fire

1. Fire detection and rapid response
Vertical sprinkler nozzles have built-in thermistors. When the fire causes the ambient temperature to reach the set threshold, the organic solution in the built-in glass ball expands and breaks. This design enables it to directly sense the rising path of the hot air flow from the fire source and achieve autonomous triggering without power dependence. Upright sprinkler nozzles are suitable for places without suspended ceilings, ensuring that the hot air flow directly contacts the glass ball and improves the response speed.

2. Directional spraying and efficient coverage
When the vertical sprinkler nozzle is working, the water flows through the splash plate to form a parabolic water curtain, covering the area below. It is suitable for high-rise spaces such as warehouses and factories, and effectively protects combustibles under the ceiling. When installed under the suspended ceiling, the water flow sprays directly downward to form an umbrella-shaped coverage surface, which is suitable for places with suspended ceilings such as offices and hotel rooms to reduce water losses. The protection radius of the upright standard sprinkler nozzle is about 1.8 meters, and the expanded coverage sprinkler nozzle can reach 2.4 meters. When densely arranged, it can form a no-dead-angle protection net.

3. Adapt to complex building structures
When there are obstacles such as beams and ventilation ducts in the building, the vertical sprinklers can compensate for the blocked area by adjusting the spacing or adding sprinklers. The upright sprinklers are used with the inflatable pipes to avoid freezing at low temperatures, which is suitable for garages in cold areas. The water mist sprayed by the vertical sprinklers can cool facilities such as fireproof roller shutters and steel structures, extending the fire resistance time.
