How do Sagging sprinkler head work?
The installation position and method of pendant sprinkler heads have been carefully designed and considered. It is usually installed vertically on the water supply branch pipe. This installation method not only ensures that the sprinkler head can be firmly fixed on the pipe, but also allows the sprinkler head to maintain a drooping state under normal working conditions. The pendant design of the pendant sprinkler head is not arbitrary, but is based on its working principle and fire extinguishing needs. When the nozzle is not activated, its drooping posture makes its outlet point downward, aiming at the space below. This attitude ensures that when the sprinkler head receives a start signal, it can quickly and accurately spray water to the predetermined area, achieving rapid and effective fire extinguishing. Workers only need to connect the sprinkler head to the water supply branch pipe and ensure that it is installed vertically. No complex adjustments or calibrations are required, greatly reducing installation difficulty and time costs. When a fire breaks out, the sprinkler head can respond quickly and spray water above the fire source to form water mist covering a wide area. When the ambient temperature in the place rises sharply due to fire or other reasons, once it reaches the preset starting temperature of the pendant sprinkler head, the heat-sensitive element inside the sprinkler head - usually a special glass ball - will start its unique reaction mechanism . The glass sphere is filled with a specific liquid and designed to expand rapidly and burst at a specific temperature. As the ambient temperature rises, the liquid in the glass ball begins to expand when heated, until it reaches a critical point. At this time, the glass ball cannot withstand the internal pressure and will rupture. Allowing the barrier between the water supply line and the sprinkler head to be broken down.
Once the sealing structure is broken, the water in the water supply pipe will surge rapidly under strong pressure like a beast that has been unlocked, and can't wait to spurt out through the outlet of the nozzle. The design subtlety of the pendant nozzle lies in its unique spray shape. The sprayed water does not simply shoot out in a straight line, but is guided by a special structure inside the nozzle to form a parabolic spray. This parabolic spray design allows the water flow to cover a wider ground area, not just the small space directly under the nozzle.
This wide coverage area is critical to fighting fires. When a fire breaks out, the fire source often spreads quickly, forming one or more fire points. If the fire extinguishing system can only cover a limited area, the fire is likely to continue to expand, making fire extinguishing more difficult. The parabolic spray design of the pendant nozzle can spray a large amount of water to multiple areas around the fire source in a short period of time, thereby effectively suppressing the spread of the fire.
